Burgundy Gherkin opens

Grant and Rhoda Negus, the new owners of the Pizza Shop (previously named Pizza World), on the corner of Bath and Kohler Street, had their official opening on Sunday, 27th May.

Not only has the name of the business now changed to "The Burgundy Gherkin", it has a completely new look and many added facilities.

Grant says that they plan to still retain the main focus of the business, ie. to have the BEST takeaway Pizzas & Pastas, but that there is now the addition of a Chill Lounge, the seating for sit-downs has been increased and there is also a "safe zone" - a playroom for children.

We would like to encourage families or groups of friends to come and relax in our upstairs (chill area) where the kids are also welcome.

The upstairs area is also suitable for private functions and small parties. The trading hours during the off-season is : 4pm – 8.30pm, so private parties and venue hire can be accommodated outside of these times. When the season starts, the Burgundy Gherkin will be open during the day as well.

Another addition is the introduction of a business lunch delivery service which Grant and Rhoda hope everyone will welcome and make full use of!
