Outing to Babylonstoren Gardens

Monday, 19 March 2018
You are invited to accompany the Montagu ECO Club on Monday 19 March 2018 on a visit to the beautiful Babylonstoren Gardens (fruit and vegetables) built and run along similar lines to those initially established by the Dutch East India Company in the Cape Town region.
DEPARTURE TIME, from the Montagu Tourism Office in Bath Street, will be at 08h00.
COST PER PERSON for the tour of the gardens is R10 while everyone will be responsible for their own transportation (as several members have indicated that they have room for one or two passengers without transport
Those wanting to avail themselves of this offer must please contact Anne-Marie 023-614 2471 at the earliest possible opportunity).

The size of the tour group is limited to 20 so reservations with payment will be limited to those first notifying Anne-Marie.

Weather permitting, it is envisaged that the route over the mountains will be taken to Babylonstoren with a short stop-over at the top of Du Toit’s Kloof so that photographs can be taken.

It is suggested that comfortable shoes be worn and that everyone wears a hat (protection against the sun). The pathways in the gardens are gravel and in some areas covered with peach pips. The gardens cover an area of 3.5 hectares (8 acres) and the tour is estimated to last between 1.5 – 2 hrs. Refreshments can be purchased on site.

We look forward to an interesting visit to Babylon gardens and trust that you will be part of our group.
