On Saturday evening, from 5pm we will have a program of local artist in the scenic Montagu Nature Garden. Picnic platters will be on sale, but please bring your own liquid refreshment! The artists: DJ Longi (specialises in African sounds and beats, he reads his audience quite well)- will start enticing people with sounds from 16:30 till 17:00
17:00-17:30 – Duo from Ashbury Primary ( Song and piano) – Received a special award at Montagu Youth Arts Festival.
17:30 – 18:00 – Aviwe and team will be performing Miriam Makeba’s click song and a few other favourites. Aviwe is one of the waiters at Blu Vines, has travelled to countries like Japan and the Netherlands. He is a phenomenal dancer but has discovered his singing talent as well. Truly an amazing performer.
18:00 to 19:00 –Viv Rivers: his music reminds me of the the time that hippies ruled. Feel-good music that makes you want to get up and dance and embrace the traveller in you. If you want to get a feel for what he’s doing, check out Youtube and type in Viv Rivers, one of the first songs that comes up is Open Antennae.
19:00-20:00 - Negus & Bain - Ending the show with music from an era that most probably had the most profound impact on the human race. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Our DJ will fill in the breaks to allow artists to get ready, and depending on the crowd, get them up and dancing for short breaks.
