Montagu Men's Fellowship

Montagu Events - Montagu Men's Fellowship
All men are cordially invited to join our monthly meeting.
Date: Saturday, 19th January 2019 ~ Time: 08:30
Venue: Montagu Nature Garden, Van Riebeeck Street
Speaker: Mike Boshoff

Title: "The Lord is my shepherd and that is all I need to know"
Mike & Rinette Boshoff came to Montagu 19 years ago, after taking an early retirement at age 55. They poured their lives into establishing the farm in Rose and Long Street, which was a small apricot farm. They transformed it into a thriving olive farm, Mirihof, an excellent business and a successful accommodation destination.
Mike was born on a farm in Potgietersrus. At the age of six his dad took up a post at the newly formed Iscor in Van der Byl Park. It was when he got to high school that he met his sweetheart, Rinette van Zyl, to whom he would marry.
After school he started a career at Sars, then went to Youngsfield to do his military service, while Rinette went to Teacher’s College. In 1966 they got married. He pursued his studies after hours and completed his B Com degree in four years. With very little sleep and hard work he passionately pursued his studies to obtain a double Honours degree in Business Economics and Management Accounting. He completed his Masters in Management Accounting too.
Mike pursed many career opportunities but finished up with the National Parks Board where he rose up the ranks to the Head of Tourism and Trade. He was promoted to Cape Town to head up all the Parks in SA except the Kruger National Park.
When asked what message does he have for South Africa, in these extremely tough times, Mike points to Psalm 37: 3-5 which has been a pillar of strength to him, “Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
They are passionate about God’s word - they read the Bible together each day.
They have four children: Ronel (48), Hannes (46), Marinda (44), and Rinette (43), amazingly they all live in Durbanville, attend the same church and the grand-children all attend the same school.

Please join us for a cup of coffee and an egg and bacon roll. Cost: R20
