Title: " The power of prayer"

Sarel was born in 20 June 1959, in Petrusburg, Free State. He matriculated at Hoërskool Volkskool Potchefstroom.

Thereafter he joined the SA Police, for six years. He then decided it was time to study at Potchefstroom Teachers’ College in order to become a teacher.

When asked how they ended up in Montagu? He says, “We didn’t know the town, we didn’t know where the town was situated.” “All we knew about Montagu was David Kramer song, “Montagu-u-u-u-u-u-u… ek drink jou muscadel ….”

Sarel’s message will focus on the power of prayer and how through it they were guided to Montagu. We know it was God’s will that we ended up here. Montagu is ours for now.

He married Isabel on 9 December 1989. She is also a retired teacher. They have 2 married children – Lelanie (34) their daughter and their son Fanus (32).
