Montagu Ashton Tourism Association wants all MATA members and sponsors of the Tourism Association to get involved in the inaugural MATA golf day. All of us working and living in tourism have been hit hard by the lockdown and travel restrictions. MATA have also been struggling to cover all our costs. We therefore have decided to join hands with the Montagu Golf Club and host our own fundraising golf day.

We would like to invite all our members to take part in this inaugural event to build it up for a future “big” event on the Western Cape golfing calendar.

Why Golf …?
The Montagu Golf Club have been one of the Mata Members who managed to keep growing even throughout the lockdown. The Club have held numerous successful events and have become one of the most active 9-hole clubs in the Western Cape. The Club has become a selling point for a lot of MATA members to help in promoting the town as a destination for golf as well.

How…?
We hope to get this golf day going and make it an annual event on our calendar.
The Club rents out the Course to us at a fixed rate per player and all additional funds goes to MATA. This year we hope to get a full field of players and by doing marketing of the day we hope to also attract players from Cape Town to come and stay for the weekend. Thus, getting more tourists to come to our lovely town.
We will also be having an auction and a lucky draw during the prizegiving.

Future of the MATA Golf Day….
With the help of our members, we would like to promote this day to such an extend that our guesthouses and hotels can promote golf packages to golfers from all over the Western Cape for next years event.

What is in it for our members and sponsors?
All funds raised during the golf day will be put towards the upgrade of the MATA website. Thus, all members will benefit.

How to get involved?
Sponsor a 4 ball = Cost R1200. Funds paid directly into MATA account. Send proof of payment to Mata.
Sponsor Prizes….
Example: Stay @ your guesthouse, hotel, or lodge.
Wine/ Hamper/ Gift Voucher: This can either be Auctioned or used as prizes. (Anything will do)
Hole Sponsorship: R1000 Paid to MATA (You can then put up a stand at 1 of the holes)
“NATGAT” sponsorship: You need to provide drinks & Something small to eat at the NATGAT

NOTE: All Sponsors will be included in the advertising and marketing campaign of this event.
