McGREGOR COUNTRY TASTES 30th of September 2017

The magical village of McGregor is holding it’s annual Food and Wine festival on Saturday the 30th of September from 10h00 – 16h00. This one-day event showcases the fine wines of the surrounding McGregor area as well as offering delicious country fare and produce from our beautiful valley, all at a one-stop venue. This is the most intimate of all wine and food Festivals in the Western Cape. It’s been described as the most fun, the most affordable and the least pretentious of any food and wine festivals.

From game meat to Garagiste, schwarmas to sauvignon blanc, pickles to pinot noir, cheese to chardonnay this delightful annual country festival will satisfy your taste buds in a casual country environment. The great attraction of this great day out is the opportunity to talk on a one to one basis with the helpful wine makers and owners of the estates who are there for the serious tasters and buyers.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the day, including the Langeberg Steel band trained by John Hargreaves and the McGregor brass band. There will be a kiddies entertainment area with food to delight young tastes buds such as popcorn, candy floss and potato spirals. All in all there is something for everyone and it is a day not to be missed!

Make a weekend of the occasion and overnight at one of the fine B&B’s, Guest Houses or self-catering establishments in historic McGregor and making time to discover the historic village with its walks, potteries and art galleries, restaurants and coffee shops. Don’t forget your boots and bikes, as there are hills and trails just waiting to be explored.

Entrance Fee: R80.00 per person includes beautiful lead crystal tasting glass. There is no charge for children accompanied by paying parent.

For more information regarding the festival or for accommodation, contact Shirley van Staden at McGregor Tourism on 023 625 1954 or e-mail her at or see
