Due to the forecast of inclement weather for this Saturday we have decided to postpone the
Herb, Plant, Succulent and Ceramic Market which is happening in the Joubert House Herb Garden to Saturday 9 October, from 10:00 to 14:00.
We’ll be serving tea & cakes and boerewors rolls.
Everyone in the Joubert House Garden has been hard at work for the past few months and in spite of the restrictions placed on our workers by all the lockdowns we are now ready to sell our plants and succulents to the public.
The main purpose of the nursery is to serve as a feeder for the garden and the herbal tea remedies.
We have been harvesting seeds and replanting these in the garden to replenish our stocks and now have a good selection of excess plants for sale as well. We have diversified our offerings into some culinary herbs, plants that are not strictly herbs and succulents (both indigenous and exotic).
In future the nursery hours will be the same as the museum hours – Monday to Thursday 9:00 to 16:30, Fridays 9:00 to 16:00 and Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 9:00 to 12:00.
Please support our nursery - the funds generated will be used to improve the garden and the irrigation system.
Please also become a Friend of the Montagu Museum – application forms are available at the reception desks and the yearly subscription is a mere R50.00.
Donations are also very welcome!
Plants such as African Sage, Cancer Bush, Holy Thistle, Sea Lavender, Cape Willow, Wild Garlic and Winter Thyme are available.
Covid 19 protocols will be observed – please wear a mask.
On the 1st of every month, we send out our "Events Mailer", highlighting all the events taking place in and around Montagu for that month. Be sure to subscribe not to miss out on important events.
