Flight for Birders 2019: BIRD IDENTIFICATION & CONSERVATION COURSE
24 & 25 AUGUST 2019
'Flight for Birders' by Dr Anton Odendal was developed to assist novices and experienced birdwatchers to become involved in bird-watching in a practical and sustainable way. Basic steps in the identification of birds are highlighted and the identification of garden birds, water birds, birds of prey and more difficult species such as 'little brown jobs' are discussed systematically. The course is illustrated with more than 1,600 images and drawings. Emphasis is placed on the further development of the Route 62 region as a top birding destination. Important conservation issues are discussed and we focus on the growth of birding tourism. Costs include basic notes and certificates endorsed by BirdLife South Africa. Gift vouchers are now available – an ideal gift for budding bird-watchers. All other details and the programme are available from Elaine – see below.
