The Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary`s Big Bookfair is back!
16 to 18 June at the Oos Kerk Hall, Van Zyl Street in Robertson.
Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary will run its 16th and biggest ever Book Fair at the Oos Kerk Hall in Robertson from Thursday 16 June to Saturday 18 June. After a two year break due to the covid19 restrictions, the biggest single book sale in the Western Cape is back. A warm invitation is extended to all book worms and bargain browsers to join this very special event. Embrace the culture of caring at this giant winter book sale, which brings in much-needed funds through the sale of some 14 000 books, all offered at bargain prices. All proceeds help to create a better life for the donkeys that now live safely at Eseltjiesrus.
Come and browse through your choice of brand new and pristine pre-owned and even collectable books, including 100-year old classics and first editions. Current novels; travel; cookery; art; gardening; psychology and lifestyle books abound, plus there's also biography and a good selection of children's titles, both new and pre-owned.
Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary is situated near McGregor in the Western Cape. It is a home and safe haven for previously abused and retired donkeys. From McGregor, Robertson is a scenic 22 km drive away.
Shortly after the founding of Eseltjiesrus in 2008, music legend David Kramer agreed to be Patron of this special donkey haven. Kramer recently composed and recorded a special song titled “Donkiehemel” to create awareness of the plight of working donkeys as well as the welfare work that takes place at Eseltjiesrus. “Donkiehemel” was launched on World Donkey Day on May 8th 2022.
