10 Year Anniversary - Wahnfried

This month we will be celebrating Wahnfried's 10th Anniversary!

Amongst many other great films, we will feature the Oscar-winning Best Pictures from the past ten years:
THE ARTIST (2012 winner); ARGO (2013); 12 YEARS A SLAVE (2014); BIRDMAN (2015); SPOTLIGHT (2016); MOONLIGHT (2017); THE SHAPE OF WATER (2018); GREEN BOOK (2019); PARASITE (2020); NOMADLAND (2021).

The very first event at Wahnfried on Sunday 21st October 2012 was a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, so on Sunday 23rd October 2022 at 11 am, there will also be a performance of this symphony in what is considered to be one of the best recordings of this work. Herbert von Karajan conducts the Berlin Philharmonic with soloists, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Agnes Baltsa, Rene Kollo and Jose van Dam in a live performance from Berlin on New Year’s Eve 1977. The performance will be followed by a ‘champagne’ reception!
