My name is Alfred Henry and together with my wife, Mandy, we own, manage and run The Pastry Place - a small artisan bakery and eatery located in the beautiful town of Montagu. We have been operating since 2020. I am an Executive Chef-Baker-Pastry Chef and Chocolatier with 30 years’ experience in the food and hospitality industry. I am extremely passionate about pastry and confectionery.

My products are all handmade by myself and my small team of bakers. We make everything from scratch, on site and use only top-quality butter, flours, imported French chocolate and, where possible, locally sourced ingredients. I produce French-style pastries, a large selection of pies & quiches as well as artisan breads, homemade ice cream, confectionery and desserts.

We love what we do and we believe our passion for pastry and confectionery reflects this in everything we produce. We produce a good selection of products each day - but in limited quantities - so be sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Quality over quantity is our motto. Our eatery menu is also small and changes regularly as we prefer to use seasonal ingredients.
