We are a family-run artisanal bakery and patisserie located in the beautiful town of Montagu.
My name is Alfred Henry and together with my wife, Mandy, we own, manage and run The Pastry Place - our small artisan bakery and patisserie located in the beautiful town of Montagu. I am an Executive Chef-Baker-Pastry Chef-Chocolatier with 25 years’ experience in the food and hospitality industry. I am passionate about pastry and confectionery.
My products are all handmade by myself – from scratch, on site and using only top-quality butter, flour, chocolate and where possible locally sourced ingredients. I produce French-style pastries, a large selection of meat and vegetarian pies & quiches as well as a selection of artisan breads and homemade ice cream.
We love what we do and we believe our passion for pastry and confectionery reflects this in everything we produce. We produce a good selection of products each day - but in limited quantities - so be sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
