The KWV buildings, corner of Long and Kohler Streets, are fine remaining examples of historical industrial architecture in a rural area and were acquired by the Museum in the 1990's.
The Montagu Museum reopened the Art Gallery, as part of the MMACC (Montagu Museum Art and Culture Centre) in the KWV Building on Heritage Day - 24th September 2013.
The MMACC houses the art gallery – with a permanent exhibition of art by Montagu native, Francois Krige, as well as regular exhibitions by local and regional artists.
The beautiful staircase to the upper level was made by internationally acclaimed artist Willie Bester, also a son of Montagu.
It also houses a media room with modern video and sound equipment which regularly screens classical contemporary films, a large events venue and “kuipe” in which local artists can express their talent.
