Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with 1.3 million members in 45,000 clubs in 205 countries and geographical areas.

Lions are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes. Founded in 1917, the association’s motto is "We Serve." Montagu Lions Club was chartered on 24 September 1973, with 22 charter members.

Today, the club consists of 15 members who serve our community through a number of service projects, of which the eye care project is probably the biggest and better known.
