Nestled between the cathedral-like peaks of the Langeberg range, lies our small village, Montagu. We all know that people have always been inspired by something beautiful like nature and it is no different with us, living on the edge of the Klein Karoo. We have the privilege to witness the change of the seasons, vineyards and orchards playing along to change their colours from green to burgundy, amber and ochre while gentle mist covering the mountaintops, almost like a silent onlooker. A group of four artists got together for the first time during April 2008 at the house of Ivy-Irene. Since then they had two successful Group Art Exhibitions. The association is still growing with 30 members at the moment. They meet once a week on a Tuesday evening for workshops. Our vision is to set a platform from where local artists' work can be exposed, to inspire one another and to establish Montagu as an Art destination.
