It is that time of the year again ! The Montagu *CPF Womens’ Awards will take place on the 31 August this year and the residents of Montagu will soon be asked to nominate and submit the names of some of the formidable ladies in our community to be considered for awards in a number of categories. Aside from the usual, new categories have been added this year.

Last year’s Awards Event was a roaring success - an illustrious affair! - with the well known Tertius Meintjes doing duty as the Master of Ceremonies. This event raised R12,900 which was applied for the upgrading of the Montagu Trauma Room at the Magistrates Offices, one of the CPF’s projects in 2010.

Nominations will be called for during the month of May when nomination boxes and forms will again be placed in strategic places all over Montagu. When nominating someone, it is important to find out as much as possible about the nominees and the work that they do in our community so that the judges can have as detailed as possible a picture of the person.

The winners of last year may not be entered in the same category again this year. The categories this year are:

* Montaguer of the Year
* Best Dressed Lady
* Grandmother of the Year
* Best Hostess in the Hospitality Industry
* Best Service/Community Worker
* Friendliest Cashier /or Receptionist, and the
new Categories added this year are:
* Sportswoman of the Year
* Top Business Woman / Entrepreneur
* Best Educationist of the Year

So many of the ladies in our community do us proud … let’s honour and thank them in a fitting manner!
