When you live in Montagu, expect to see the unexpected!
On a clear Friday when you could see forever, 25 ladies of all age groups, sizes and shapes headed up the hill to the Koo for lunch at Die Stal. Nothing unusual about that, except the mode of transport maybe! Instead of driving up there by car, the group bundled onto the covered trailer behind the Montagu Dried Fruit's tractor. And you guessed it.... squealing and giggling all the way up the mountain to the amusement of all who passed the tractor on the way!
It certainly was a lunch outing with a difference - as October was Breast Cancer awareness month, Montagu Dried Fruit didn't charge any of the ladies for transporting them at all.... instead, the R10 paid by everyone was donated to help fight Breast Cancer.
Suzanne Venter, chef and owner of Die Stal restaurant (some 8km outside Montagu on the road to Touwsriver) was ready and waiting (I am sure she could hear the imminent arrival of the group from a considerable distance away!) and pulled out all the stops to make the lunch a memorable one for all.
As an added bonus at the end of the lunch when it was time to head home again, the tractor driver was ready and waiting to deliver everyone back safely!
A big thank you to everyone who made the day possible - it was a most memorable day !
