Tuesday, 28 October 2014Tapas originated in Spain where they had their cup or glass of wine covered with a "tapa" ... that was many moons ago. Today, tapas is still served with the idea of sharing or to inspire conversation, but in larger, hearty portions.
Jessica's Restaurant is well known for it's honest, wholesome food. With the "new" idea of Tapas on the menu, Jessica's offers an unforgettable dining experience. Why not enjoy Mediterranean Cuisine in the South-Westerly corner of Africa?
The Western Cape is the only part of the country with a Mediterranean climate.
Heinrich has creatively created a wide selection of Mediterranean cuisine, meant for eating and sharing - plates with smaller portions with intense flavours and colours - the menu includes tapas like Arancini, Prawn Tempura, Herb Gnocci with coppa, Spicy Calamari, Cured smoked Pork with Cous Cous, Mussels with Verde butter and much more. The Prawn Tempura was my personal favourite.
You can choose to enjoy either a small or traditional meal portion of the tasty tapas. Feeling lucky and adventurous? Ask Heinrich to send out a his choice of dishes for your table. To get yourself into the Spanish Vibe, enjoy your fiesta in the Arancini Tapas Bar, in the front section of restaurant or in our popular garden setting.
"In Spain, it's all about long, drawn-out meals where it is about conversation and sharing" says chef Heinrich-Werner, co-owner of Jessica's for the past 8 years.
