Successful Charity Dinner | [back] |
by Beulah Liebenberg 26/11/2009 The Charity Dinner in aid of the Zolani Care Trust held on Friday 20th November in Montagu, was a huge success.
The target and aim of the dinner was to raise the R20,000 required for the building on of an extra classroom for the preschool children at the centre.
The event was well attended and everyone dug deep into their their hearts and pockets when it came to bidding on the impressive array of wines donated by various cellars for the auction which took place throughout the evening. There were also some lovely products produced by the crafters of the Zolani Wood Project on the auction.
Artist Hanna Naude individualised some of the bottles of wine by painting some bright and very attractive decorative labels on six of the 3-litre bottles and one 5-litre bottle which were auctioned and raised between R1,300 and R2,500 per bottle!
The organisers are grateful and very pleased to report that the auction raised roughly R25,000
