Rotary's 3rd annual Golf Day, the "Montagu March Classic", was held on the 26th of March at the Montagu Golf Club and turned out to be a most enjoyable day! It was supported not only by local golfers, but by several visiting Rotarians from other clubs as well.
Two local golfers triumphed as the overall winners of the day: Edwin Stemmet walked off with the
John Simpson Trophy (a floating trophy introduced this year in honour and memory of John Simpson who was a very active member of the club and whose passion was golf); Erna la Cock was the Ladies Winner (see photo below) The runners-up were: (men) Graeme Delderfield and Daphne Thornton (Ladies)
The Breede River Winelands Rotary Club would like to extend its grateful thanks to all who contributed to the success of the day, whether sponsors of holes or prizes.
A very special mention and thank you must also go to all the restaurants: Four Oaks / Templetons Restaurant; The Victorian Hotel; the Montagu Country Hotel and the 2 accommodation establishments: Little Sanctuary and Simonskloof for the outstanding table settings. It was truly a sight to behold *See Gallery of photos on this website, as well as on the Rotary website:
