Sunday the 19th September saw a queue of cars in Bath Street, Montagu champing at the bit to get rolling on a fund raising "Fun Run". Navigators read the instructions and the clues that took them around the town, filling in the answers to questions as they went (some of which were rather cryptic!) and ending up with a tricky driving-skills test such as reversing blind-folded between markers, guided only by their navigator. Left and right get confused when in reverse but I am pleased to report that there was not a single divorce.
The whole town was without electricity all day, but we doubt anyone even noticed as the day was blessed with perfect weather! The braai at Ronel and Barry Preston's rounded off a good day. It is to them we give hearty thanks for all their organising which made for a fun day for all and some much needed money in the coffers.
The businesses in town, at a time when we all feel the pinch, were incredibly generous and certainly helped to contribute to the overall success of the day. Our heartfelt thanks to :
Montagu Apteek; FoodZone; Locarno; The Wine Shop; The Orchard (Die Boord), Agrimark; Niel se Huiswinkel and The Montagu Country Hotel
PHOTO: The Fun Run was a family day out for the Du Plessis Family, the overall winners of the Rally. Congrats Hendrik and Monique!
