Lions Golf Day huge success | [back] |
Tielman de Villiers 25/02/2010 The Montagu Lions Club Golf Day on the 6th February, held at the Montagu Golf Club, was a highly successful event.
The Montagu Lions, part of the Lions International organisation, are directly involved with service within the Montagu and surrounding communities. The annual Golf Day is the club's primary project to generate funds to serve the community.
Lion’s projects range from supporting the Lion’s Cataract Project, feeding schemes to immediate short term support to the needy. Through the support of businesses and individuals the Lions can continue to assist the community in need.
Roughly 90 players entered for this event and the Lion Ladies treated them with a delicious brunch. In the evening, prizes were handed out, followed by a traditional snoekbraai.
The Lions would like to thank the Montagu Golf Club for their excellent facilities, all the many sponsors, the Lion Ladies who once again set a high standard with the catering and a big thank you to all the players.
A great day was enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to all the winners:
* Fist prize went to Pieter Venter and Willem Rossouw;
* Second were Dean Blacklaws and Pix Fouché;
* Third went to A. Ficks and D. Jacobs and
* Fourth, to Johan Oosthuizen and Tony Erasmus
The Lions Club is looking forward to the 2011-Golf Day.
