CPF brings Christmas Cheer | [back] |
by Terry McCulloch 10/12/2009 It's difficult to describe the surprise and absolute amazement on the faces of the farm children when the Montagu Community Police Forum and South African Police Service arrived on the farms around Montagu to distribute Christmas gifts on the 9th December.
Father Christmas, in full regalia, stepped out of a police bakkie with boxes of presents - identified by age and gender - for children under 12 years.
Children who seldom get to town, let alone shopping malls, had never seen a father Christmas before and Inspector Kevin Butler played his role magnificently.
More than 250 gifts were distributed - little dresses, soft toys, footballs, etc. were unpacked amid great excitement and glee.
The gifts, which came from all sectors of the community, were amazing and exceeded the Forum's wildest expectations.
