In a joint venture, the Breede River Winelands Rotary Club, the Montagu Lions Club and the Friends of the Montagu Hospital, held a very successful Carols Evening in the grounds of the NG Church on the 22nd December 2010.

The event was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by those who arrived, bringing along the whole family in most cases, as well as some scrumptious picnic hampers!
There was some concern earlier in the day as the weather did not look as if it was going to play along, but it held ...

This event is likely to become an annual one, with plans already underway to, accompanied by a special ceremony, light up the huge tree at the fence in the grounds of the church ( corner, Bloem & Bath Streets) next year.
