What a busy Heritage Month we had in September! Aside from all the exciting events that took place at the Museum, one of the highlights was a Potjiekos Competition hosted by Badensfontein on Saturday 24th September. Several aspirant Potjie Champs competed for the prize, but it was the ladies' team, Tineke Silverentant and Sankie Jordaan, who emerged victorious as the Potjie Queens at the end of the day! The panel of judges (who assured us that they accepted NO bribes!) were Schalk Esterhuysen, Corniel Venter and Daantjie Esterhuysen. The proceeds of the day, R2000, was donated to the Keisie Creche.
