One of the highlights of our Heritage Month celebrations in September must surely be Antoinette Pienaar's visit to the Ou Sendingkerk in Montagu on Thursday the 22nd. What a vibrant lady and excellent story-teller she is!

One of five sisters, she was born in Carnarvon and studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch. She became a singer and has been performing countrywide.

Antoinette also has a wonderful knowledge of the healing qualities of our Karoo herbs and while I think many who came to listen to her were disappointed that she didn't share more of this knowledge with us, her wonderful sense of humour when she regaled us with some of her life stories (she had her audience in stitches most of the time) more than made up for it!
