About Us: The Breede River Hospice is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of community leaders and professionals (retired and active) from the five towns of the Breede River/Winelands municipal area. BRH brings comfort and relief to the dying and their families because we believe there is a basic right to pain-free end-of-life care and support for families of the dying. We provide PALLIATIVE CARE to our patients who, most commonly, are diagnosed with Cancer and HIV/Aids. Our total staff compliment is currently 30, which includes a medical doctor, nursing professionals, social workers, community care-givers, an education co-ordinator, a funding facilitator, a financial manager and admin staff. Breede River Hospice could not exist without the dedicated volunteer team that it has. Most of the volunteers are retired people who are passionate about the hospice philosophy and therefore have time and energy to give. Our volunteers help as Care-Givers, Bereavement Supporters, Charity Shop operators, Fundraising Event co-ordinators, Collection Tin operators, Caterers, Drivers and Office assistants. The service rendered by the Breede River Hospice is free of charge. Please help us by supporting our two charity shops (Montagu and Robertson) and other fundraising projects.
