Hoot 'n Anny Picnic Concert
Sunday, 07 February 2016HOOT ‘N ANNY is an experience!
They take you on a journey with their music, they make you dance, laugh and even cry. In 2005, walking in circles for days at a festival and singing along to one song ‘Honey it must be love’, the flame between Franco & Alouise’s was lit.
Soon HOOT ‘N ANNY started singing cameos with artists like Karen Zoid, Arno Carstens and playing venues around Gauteng. Then bigger events started rolling in, Oppikoppi, Strab Festival (Mozambique), FORR (Mozambique), Park Acoustics, Otterlake Easter Festival and the internet phenomena Balcony TV.
Inspired by Johnny Cash, Brandy Carlyle, Emy-Lou Harris, Mark Knopfler, etc. they then came up with their own style - unique female vocals resembling Dolly Parton, the huskiness of Johnny Cash on male vocals and the flat picking style of Chet Atkins on guitar.
Previously to Hoot 'n Anny, Franco Jamneck worked with artists like Ollie Viljoen and Valiant Swart, Karen Zoid, Piet Botha, The Black Cat Bones, Jan Blohm and is still part of The Fake Leather Blues band. Since discovering Alouise Jamneck’s vocal talent in 2005, they have become a formidable musical team.
Here's some footage of Hoot 'n Anny doing their thing:
Joining them on stage for some fun will be trombonist Jannie Hanepoot van Tonder.
