Wine, Dine, Sleep...Repeat
[back]
by Hilton Preston
03/09/2009
Although I am no doctor, I generally prescribe the wine, dine and sleep adage to anyone who asks the question "So what is there to do in Montagu?"

One of my favourite responses to this question was by a friend, Deon Dorrington. A visitor to Montagu asked this very question, to which he immediately responded "Well .... you could take a nice long walk in Lover's Walk, visit some wine cellars, go on the tractor trip.... OR you could always head over to 7'Eleven to try and catch a teddy!" Now although I had a good chuckle at his response, it was a valid point. Montagu is not an action-packed-itinerary-bursting town, but does offer unique experiences if you know where to look.

Most of the time Montagu is a popular choice simply because people want to get off the "Hamster Wheel" for a bit, enjoy clean air, and tranquillity that only Montagu can offer.

Montagu has value in many areas, and this includes the quality wines from our estates and cellars, award-winning restaurants, and a wide variety of accommodation establishments to ensure that awesome memories leave with you. So when next in Montagu, whether it's your first visit, or a return trip, be sure to do as the doctor says. Seeya soon!

"I have caught a teddy and, yes coming from london & Cape Town, it is not action-packed, but scratch the surface you will be surprised there is alot to do."
