Langdam-in-Koo is situated in the picturesque Koo valley on a fruit farm 38km from Montagu on the R318 'FRUIT ROUTE'. Pear Tree cottage (sleeps 2-4) is situated adjacent to the original farm house built in 1912 and overlooks a dam and the Langeberg mountain range. The surroundings are peaceful and have a natural farm style atmosphere. This is a fully equipped self catering cottage with towels and all bedding included. This cottage is open plan with a double bed and 2 bunk beds. Apricot Suite (sleeps 2) is a romantic 'honeymoon suite' attached to the original farmhouse built in 1912 with a separate private entrance. Boasting a four-poster bed, a wonderful bathroom complete with free-standing claw-tooth bath and double shower. Includes a fully equipped kitchenette with indoor fire-place and outdoor braai area. Almond suite (sleeps 2-6) has a seperate bedroom with a double bed and open-plan living area with a single/double bunk bed and extra bunk. It has an equipped kitchenette and indoor fireplace.It has its own private garden and braai area with views over the orchards. Enjoy meals outside on the balcony overlooking the mountains and orchards, or in the nearby Oasis lapa overlooking the dam or simply snuggle up in front of the cosy indoor fireplace- the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the numerous ducks and geese and the magnificent sun sets. Camping is also available in our pine forest. There are 5 camp sites shaded by pine trees surrounding a comfortable lapa with ablution facilities that include warm showers. With no electricity available, get away from the rat-race and enjoy fire-side evenings while listening to the sounds of night birds. Look out for small buck, rabbits and porcupines. Use the built-in braai areas or braai in the lapa. Very peaceful and close to the dam where one can swim. Things to do on the farm include swimming in the dam or solar-heated reservoir, bird watching, walking and hiking trails on the farm as well as seasonal fruit picking. Mountain biking is allowed so bring your bikes. Or just do nothing but relax. We are just 30 minutes from historic town of Montagu on the wine and brandy tasting route. Also available in the area are kloofing expeditions, horse riding, golfing, tractor rides with potjie lunches, cheese and wine tastings, Saturday markets, warm water springs in Montagu. For a relaxing holiday away from the stresses of everyday life come for a visit and have memories for a lifetime. |
