Keisie Cottages (Keisie means “Sweet Water” in the San language) offers self-catering, pet-friendly farm cottages in the beautiful Keisie Valley, 24 kms outside Montagu on the R318, the road less travelled which leads to the Koo Valley and on to the N1.
Keisie Cottages has four self-catering cottages in a stunning mountain setting yet close enough to Montagu to enjoy all that it offers. Hiking, swimming (lovely pool deck surrounded by roses), mountain biking, fishing, stargazing and bird life abound. We have a lovely pool deck next to our rose garden where you can pick your own roses for R3 a rose.
We are situated on Vredendal (Peace in the Valley) Farm and we grow apricots, grapes, gooseberries, quinces, pecan nuts and plums and you are welcome to pick in season, by prior arrangement. Guests may also pick organic herbs from our garden for their salads or potjies!
The three small farm cottages are next to each other, but separated with screens for privacy. Fig Tree and Vine, have one bedroom at R400 per cottage per night. Both have sofa's in front of the fireplace in the living area and an open plan kitchen and bathroom with shower and toilet. Lavender has two bedrooms and a kitchen/living area with fireplace, bathroom etc. for R600 per night.
Keisie has 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and one twin, with the fireplace in one bedroom. There is also a sleeper couch in the living area, and an open-plan kitchen. It has a large verandah with a beautiful view and a private garden, which is fenced for pets. Keisie is R900 per night.
All cottages have outside built-in barbeque's and are fully equipped for self-catering with either a stove or microwave or both, as well as fridges, fans, heating panels etc. All bedding is provided including feather duvets and extra blankets for winter.
Keisie Cottages is a country retreat which is all about getting away from the madding crowds - no tv's, no mobile reception, just the sounds of nature!
